Abbeyfield Australia works with local communities to develop new Abbeyfield houses and hostels. Whilst we provide a proven national framework, the development remains a locally managed solution to a local housing need.
Abbeyfield Australia offers the know-how to help local communities:
- assess their housing needs
- develop financially sustainable housing solutions
- design attractive, functional and welcoming housing
- provide high quality community based housing outcomes.
The initial capital fund raising is the single most significant hurdle in developing an Abbeyfield house. Once constructed and fully operational, an Abbeyfield house is financially sustainable and able to deliver a small operating surplus to be reapplied to the house.
If you or your organisation is interested in the Abbeyfield concept of housing and believe there is a need for a house in your community, register your interest in an Abbeyfield Local Society, click here.
